centenescu

Towards the end of 2018 I started to become interested in the idea of Circuit Board Artwork, designing various crafted objects from PCBs by also paying attention to appearance and details. During the same period the Romanian Centenary celebrated on the 1st of December 2018 was approaching so I decided to take action and develop a Bracelet symbol for this event, Centenescu.

Centenescu (from the Romanian word centenear = centenary)  was a bracelet symbol of the Romanian Centenary with LEDs in the three Romanian flag colors (red, yellow, and blue) placed in the shape of the ‘100’ number. It also included stylish touch buttons, a small CR2032 battery powering the whole device, and a NATO strap to secure it around the hand. I manufactured Centenescu in larger quantities (100 pcs), assembled the boards, developed the ultra-low-power embedded C code, and tried to sell them exclusively online. Unfortunately, in the lack of a good marketing and advertising campaign, I sold less than a third of the products. Following the same Circuit Board Artwork idea, I developed another project, Bradescu in smaller quantities and successfully sold them.
